Christian 12-step Recovery from Food Addiction

Hi, I'm Pam, Recovering Food Addict from Auburn, MA.

Full of Faith (or full of food?) is my from rags to riches story of my journey from food addiction to wholeness. I am still not all that God wants me to be, but I am certainly not where I used to be.

To find it, go to my web site: http://www.fulloffaith.com.

You will also see food plans, the tools for recovery, and the 12-steps with related Scripture.

If you have any questions, just ask.

For me, I needed to understand food addiction and what that means...to take the first steps, I needed to show up at meetings (for me, I go to 90dayOA phone meetings)...(go to OA.org for the list), then listen to other people who struggle with the same problems. It was amazing to me to hear that I was not the only one who hid food, stole food, ate in secret...and couldn't stop once I started, plus more.

Literature was also helpful. Besides, the l2-step literature, I'd suggest Kay Sheppard's book, Food Addiction, The Body Knows as a reference guide.

NOTE: 90dayOA is not the only food addiction l2-step program. There are many. It is my opinion that there is no "one size fits all" program or food plan. There are different strokes for different folks, but what we do share in common is the desire to be free from compulsive overeating.

My personal experience has proven to me that I cannot eat sugar, flour, wheat or artificial sweeteners or I will go back into compulsive overeating... I am happy today eating a weighed and measured structured food plan, and living my life in-between (in a thin body).

For the record, I have been "abstinent" which means that I have followed my food plan, for over nineteen years and I have maintained a 75 pound weight loss.
