to accept the things I cannot change
the courage to change the things I can
and the wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time
enjoying one moment at a time
accepting hardship as a pathway to peace;
taking as Jesus did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it.
"We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed and broken. We are perplexed, but we don't give up and quit. We are hunted down, but God never abandons us. We get knocked down, but we get up again and keep going."
(2 Cor. 4:8-9 NLT)

When pressures come into my life...and I feel scared and anxious, I still own times of wanting to control people, places and things, but today (and more often than not these days) I hope to turn to God...and remember that He has my life in His hands. My trials and my experiences are all part of my growing more mature, so that I can be used by Him to help others.
~~
"Lord, my life is in Your hands. No matter what comes into my circumstances today, help me to turn to You, love You and trust You. I will lean on and depend on You for my peace, satisfaction and joy today."
~~
God is the answer. What's the question?

That was great, just what I needed. We have no school today and I want to enjoy every little moment of today. The kids and I are all home (skipping parade) and we will enjoy the day, every moment.
I agree that these trials and experiences I'm having, with food addiction, drug addiction, and marriage will mature and grow me to be help others. But boy, sometimes I wish I could hit the fast foward button on the remote of life :).
I loved the prayer for today, I said outloud and wrote it down to say later. It's amazing how I can have a great morning time with God and then 2 hours later my mind says 'huh?' what was that verse. Good thing I have paper and pen and ability to meditate and memorize! Have a great day friend!
