hope and faith

"I remember my affliction and my wandering,
the bitterness and the gall.
I well remember them,
and my soul is downcast within me.
Yet this I call to mind
and therefore I have hope:
Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed,
for his compassions never fail.
They are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
I say to myself, "The Lord is my portion;
therefore I will wait for Him."

Wow, "THE LORD IS MY PORTION!" Selah. I need to pause and think about that.

This is self-explanatory. I am going to meditate on this Scripture today and soak in God's beauty.

The note about hope referring to Lamentations 3:1-26 in the Life Recovery Bible ends with "Turning our life over to God includes giving Him our pain and our suffering. In our times of grief and shame we can hope, knowing that God will help us overcome the problems we face. God is strong enough to lift our burdens and loving enough to mend our broken heart."
