Courage

God grant me the serenity
to accept the thing I cannot change
the courage to change the things I can

"...Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him to help you do it, and he will." (Psalm 37:5, The living Bible)

Basically, for me, courage comes down to "doing it afraid"--whatever "it" is--and letting God do His handiwork in any situation.

I am a fear-based person. I have seen that I am not alone in this. Many, if not most addicts are fear-based. I want to know the outcome, so I try to control things to the best of my ability. Well, I have learned that "my" ability wanes in the truth of God's ability.

I like the expression, "Instead of telling God how big your problems are, tell your problems how big your God is!"
